Introduction
Relationship management is a critical process that creates a positive relationship between customers and the organization (Kumar & Reinartz, 2018). The aim of the research is to primarily engage the customers and understand their opinions on relationship management. The research question is: How does relationship management work with customers in a business environment? The main objective is to identify the benefits of relationship management to customers through face-to-face interviews.
Research Design
The research will be conducted under positivism to understand the effective management of customer relationships. Positivism is essential since it focuses on facts and not assumptions; therefore, it will be easy to understand the research logic and validity. Besides, the research will focus on the qualitative method. The choice of the method is based on the effectiveness in understanding the customers' experiences, opinions, and different concepts. It will also focus on non-numerical data, which is easy to interpret. Lastly, face-to-face interviews will be used to collect data. Face-to-face interviews are necessary for primary and actual data such as customer's relationship with the management (Loosveldt, 2012). Therefore positivism, qualitative method, and face-to-face interview since they focus on comprehensive and valid data necessary for the research.
Setting
The research will focus on Trader Joe's. The choice of the company is due to its classification as the leading in managing customer relationships (Trader Joe's, 2022). Therefore, it will be easy to understand how such a relationship affects the customer's engagement and purchase. The company does not experience ethical issues such as access safety; however, the major ethical issues are data storage and protection, which have raised different concerns. Therefore, engaging the management and the customers in the business environment would be significant.
Participants
The study opts to engage the customers to understand their company management experiences. The study will be based on 20 customers accessing the company to collect adequate data for comparison and analysis. The final sample will contain ten males and ten females to enhance gender balance. The researcher will use random sampling. Random sampling is significant since it gives all the individuals an equal chance to participate and reduces bias (Emerson, 2015). Gaining access to the client will be in the company facility after requesting permission from the management. However, every participant will sign an informed consent form to enhance ethical standards before participation.
Materials
The most critical material for the research is the interview schedule. The interview schedule is essential since it increases the credibility and reliability of the gathered data (Roulston, 2014).
