Technology eased communication between people, and it became more straightforward for people to share ideas and grievances. It unleashed revolutions that help bring change to the global community. The benefits of technology are immense, considering the way companies were able to expand rapidly and sell their services and products to clients worldwide. The use of technology differs among age groups, but it has primarily initiated a transition in many human endeavors. Through technology, numerous giant companies like Google, Facebook, Oracle, Amazon, and Twitter erupted. These companies solely relied on the interpretation and analysis of people's data for growth. As more people joined their networks, the companies could expand because they had large amounts of data that could decide the course of action for every situation. As the world developed, many companies and individuals across all sectors realized that is the most valuable commodity; hence more ways to collect it were devised. Ignorance allowed people to freely share their data until the early 2000's when awareness about data started to be taken seriously. Policymakers realized that how data was collected, conveyed, and interpreted could directly influence people's lives; hence, stringent policies had to be created to ensure there was accountability in the process.
Through data security campaigns, people came to know of the term 'Hacking,' which refers to gaining entry to computer systems and online accounts without authorization or consent of the owners.
