Introduction
Literature is a diverse field of written work in which people express themselves through stunning poetry or stories. Many people worldwide enjoy these pieces and admire the writers who can create these unique, captivating ideas that appeal to the entire world. Every author has a unique perspective on literature and has unique ideas for the world to see. Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes are two examples. Both authors worked on different topics that can touch people's hearts. Zora brought attention to the plight of African Americans and racism, while Langston became known as the father of the Harlem Renaissance and the pioneer of jazz poetry. Understanding these aspects of the black race is critical for understanding their cultural development and the daily struggles they face to overcome the problems that racism causes for these people.

Beginning with Zora Neale's work, the author wrote some brilliant pieces focusing on the lives of African Americans in the early 1900s. "Their Eyes Were Watching God" is like that which steals focus from others. The novel is about a young and independent African American woman who marries three times in her life. She never has to face undue bitterness, unfulfilled childish romantic dreams, or spend her life in sorrow. This novel stands out because it empowers women of all races by making the main character, Jamie, an epitome of strength and independence that women of almost every race lacked in the 1900s by saying, "In spite of the judgemental voices…her own remembering" (Hurston and Danticat 14). The novel then reveals that, despite her fair skin, the woman is still an African American who enjoys her life when she falls in love with a younger man rather than abandoning her dreams and ambitions. It was a brilliant novel because the author used numerous literary devices as a narrative voice to the text and symbolism to make the writing more appealing to people. Furthermore, we know that the novel was dismissed by many male reviewers back in 1937. Still, it is a great piece for today's generation because it allows them to peek into the lives of black women in the 1920s and understand their experiences while learning about gender roles from that era.
Zora's autobiography, called the Dust Tracks on a Road, is one of her outstanding works. It is a humorous yet powerful work where she shares her life experiences as a black woman. The book is amusing, captivating, daring, and candid. It is fantastic because she discusses her journey as a poor black woman who was completely on her own at the age of thirteen (Li 17) and how she overcame the shackles of poverty by joining the circle of prominent leading artists and influencers during the Harlem Renaissance. She comes across as a champion of the black experience in America, having overcome numerous disadvantages and discrimination based solely on her race. This novel established Zora Neale as a prominent and powerful figure in literary work. Her ability to put all of her difficult experiences into words and convey them to the audience is admirable.
