Major Policy Cycle
Healthcare policy is one of the effective strategies for enhancing and protecting the health of individuals and the community. Such a policy entails blueprints of action and a statement of intent that contains step-by-step implementation protocols and overarching outcome goals. Policymaking is a process that helps to deliver meaningful outcomes while enhancing the well-being of community members. Although project managers can find it hard to assess policies, the core objective is to attain broad conceptual goals. In the healthcare field, effective health policies build blocks that enhance community members’ enhanced health systems and well-being. However, developing procedures in the healthcare field is complex since it involves ethical, financial, legal, political, and social stakeholders. The policy entails a significant cycle that involves policy analysis, formulation, implementation, and evaluation.
Health systems have been changing rapidly, resulting from emerging demands in the healthcare sector. Therefore, nurse leaders should have an opportunity of influencing the formulation of health policies rather than just implementing them. Over the years, chief executives have recognized the relevance of health research while utilizing resources to improve health outcomes. The utilization of health research in the policymaking process facilitates the faster realization of desired results. Therefore, top executives can use policymaking in making relevant decisions regarding the community members’ and employees’ well-being.

Notably, policymakers weigh decisions on different criteria since the analysis can help to inform and support decisions based on the technical aspects of an issue. However, it is imperative to analyze the underlying financial costs and benefits of a problem. Policy analysis can help identify advocacy opportunities and monitor the steps of the underlying process (Chan 2020, p. 54). The process is an imperative area of expertise for officials, health advo...
