More resources on overpopulation. Overpopulation. Research Paper

Research Paper Instructions:

Here is a relevant Ted Talk if you are looking for more resources on overpopulation for your midterm tomorrow.
https://www(dot)ted(dot)com/talks/charles_c_mann_how_will_we_survive_when_the_population_hits_10_billion#t-765688
Remember you need to think about positive OR negative effects. So you are taking a stance and developing an organized essay based on your stance. Do you believe that overpopulation will have negative effects on humankind? OR do you believe in human's development of technology and their ability to innovate/conserve to accommodate overpopulation? The former belief would be taking a NEGATIVE stance, and the latter belief would be a taking a POSITIVE one.
Please spend some time thinking about the type of cause/effect language that will come out of this topic. Also what verb tenses will likely be appropriate (simple past/simple present? Present perfect? progressive tense? future tense?) I will also be heavily grading your ability to write complete, complex sentences (e.g. NOT writing run-on sentences, comma splices, and fragments). We've been practicing a lot so I know if you are aware of your grammar and language use you can break out of old habits and show improvement. That's what this class is all about. I know you can do it! :)
If you were absent the Thursday before break I am trusting that you got what you missed that day and will be prepared for tomorrow's midterm. Be aware that if you miss the midterm, you will not have an opportunity to retake it.
I hope you all had a great, relaxing break!
Because I am a student in language school, thus, pls do not writing to prefect.

Overpopulation
As per a 2017 United Nations report, the world’s population is expected to “reach 8.6 billion in 2030, 9.8 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100.” The report continues to note that annually, around 83 million people are added to the world’s population. With medical breakthroughs, reduction in mortality rates, increased birth rates, and increased instances of immigration, this number will continue to grow. Inequality continues to be a major problem with only a few people controlling the world’s wealth. The world poverty clock indicates that currently, close to 600,000 million people live in abject poverty. They cannot afford basic amenities and thus cannot fend for themselves or their families. Even though this number has been decreasing over the years, it is not because of the even distribution of wealth and opportunities. In his article, Frank (2017) reports that the world’s riches or 1% of the world’s population currently “owns half the world’s wealth.” This confirms that the world is still unequal with only fewer individuals benefiting from the vast resources available. So, in such a world and with the consistent increase in population, this paper seeks to argue that overpopulation will have negative effects on mankind.
First of all, overpopulation leads to the depletion of the earth’s natural resources. As the world’s population continues to soar, the competition for resources soars as well. This competition leads to a faster decline of the life-sustaining resources. Overpopulation will automatically lead to excessive human consumption of what occurs naturally on the earth’s surface and underneath it. The eventual effect is that the resources will be scarce which will make it impossible for the earth to support life in the future.
The next negative effect of overpopulation is that it leads to increased loss of...
