Research Bibliography Assignment
I included on five articles as an attachment and please read instructions and follow as written
1) Rationale Statement
The rationale statement introduces your research bibliography. The rationale statement provides an introduction to any research report you might write, such as a term paper, or a thesis. Done well, this assignment might become the preliminary structure of chapter one (introduction and background) and chapter two (literature review) of larger research projects.
This introductory material helps the reader to understand the topic and context of your inquiry. Samples of completed research bibliographies have been provided that may help you understand this part of the assignment further. The rationale statement should be approximately two pages (double-spaced) long. It should include:
A description of the topic or issue that you wish to investigate,
An indication of why the topic is worth studying,
A description of potential sub-topics related to your topic (more narrowly-focused areas of research that pertain to the topic you have selected).
2) Research Bibliography: Five Citations
The research bibliography is a list of citations to research-based articles, or data-driven reports that focus upon a central theme or topic. The research bibliography should contain brief descriptive and evaluative paragraphs to inform the reader of the research conducted and the credibility of the sources cited. Your writing should demonstrate your own critical thinking about each reference. In this assignment, please share your evaluation of the research literature. The purpose of the research bibliography is to enable others to decide whether a resource is of potential value to them.
Your research bibliography should include five references; they should all be research-based sources (i.e., the sources should each report the methods and results of a qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research effort). The format for the research bibliography for each of the five articles includes:
The citation of the article, in APA format (see APA publication guidelines);
A summary -- a brief descriptive and evaluative narrative; a typical summary is between one and two pages (double-spaced) in length. The summary provides a critical overview of the content, scope, and context of each resource. This must include:
A synopsis of the research effort. The synopsis should contain enough detail for the reader to determine the research methods employed by the authors of the study and the results of the study.
An evaluation of the credibility of the resource (addressing concepts mentioned in the class presentation on literature review/chapter four of the course text).
If appropriate you may also include a description of the intended audience.
Sources for the research bibliography of five citations:
Articles should be drawn from professional publications, preferably professional journals related to your area of interest. Additional sources of research-based works include published proceedings of conferences, dissertations, theses, and research published by government entities. As you locate documents, if you are unsure as to whether a particular source qualifies for this assignment, show it to me to secure approval before including it in your research bibliography.
If you locate articles by searching an index, it is possible that you will locate only an abstract or summary of the article.
You may not summarize an abstract or summary; you need to reference the entire original article upon which it is based. You are encouraged to use articles published within the past five years. You should avoid using sources that are not research-based, sources that simply restate the findings of other researchers (e.g., literature reviews), and sources that are theoretical or opinion pieces.
3) Integrative Summary of Notable Trends of Agreement or Disagreement among Authors
A relatively brief (two or three paragraphs should be sufficient) comparison of the five citations. A description of each of the five citations alone will not be nearly as illuminating with respect to agreement or disagreement among authors as a thoughtful comparison of your citations. What should you compare? Potential comparisons include, but are not limited to the following:
Assumptions underlying the researchers’ work
The specific purposes of the research undertaken
The theories tested
The hypotheses stated by the researchers
The types of research designs utilized
The types of analyses conducted by the researcher
Flaws or gaps in the studies
The variables that were studied
The results of the studies
The interpretation of the results
Limitations associated with the studies
The researchers’ recommendations for further study
The contributions of the research to the body of established literature on the topic
Please note that you do not have to address each of the comparisons above in your integrative summary; some points of comparison may have greater or lesser relevance to your particular collection of citations. A good summary will provide the reader with a clear sense of common themes and interesting differences among the five citations you selected for your research bibliography assignment.

Rationale Statement
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed people's lives, particularly in how they work, with a notable shift towards remote or work-from-home jobs. This transition has had both positive and negative impacts on individuals and society as a whole. One of the pandemic’s primary changes is the widespread adoption of remote work arrangements. With the need for social distancing and lockdown measures, many organizations quickly pivoted to remote work to ensure business continuity. This shift has allowed employees to carry out their professional responsibilities from the safety and comfort of their homes, minimizing the risk of exposure to the virus. Moreover, this shift has provided opportunities for people with disabilities.
The pandemic has created new telework job opportunities for people with disabilities (PWDs) due to several factors. One significant factor is the increased acceptance and implementation of remote work. As organizations adapted to the pandemic, they recognized the feasibility of remote work arrangements and their benefits regarding safety and continuity of operations. This shift in mindset has led to a greater willingness to consider individuals with disabilities for telework positions, as physical accessibility barriers that may have existed in traditional workplaces are minimized in remote settings. PWDs can now access job opportunities that were previously limited or unavailable to them, leveraging their skills and talents in remote work environments.
Moreover, the expansion of telework has created a more inclusive job market for PWDs by removing some of the traditional barriers they often face. Transportation challenges, inaccessible physical environments, and the need for workplace accommodations are reduced or eliminated in remote work. This increased accessibility allows PWDs to compete for positions on an equal footing with their non-disabled peers, leading to more excellent employment opportunities and improved economic independence.
The pandemic has also highlighted the importance of diverse and inclusive workforces. Organizations have recognized that employing individuals with disabilities brings unique perspectives, skills, and talents. Remote work offers an opportunity to tap into this talent pool, as geographical location becomes less of a limiting factor. Companies are now actively seeking to diversify their workforce and create inclusive cultures that value and support PWDs, creating telework jobs specifically targeted at this demographic. Thus, the COVID-19 pandemic has created telework job opportunities for PWDs by fostering an environment that embraces remote work, removing physical barriers, promoting diversity and inclusion, and leveraging assistive technologies.
However, the transition to remote work has also presented challenges and negative consequences. Blurring boundaries between work and personal life has led to longer working hours and an increased risk of burnout. The lack of separation between home and office spaces can make it difficult for individuals to disconnect from work, leading to a constant feeling of being "on-call" and impacting their overall well-being.
