The study will determine whether there is a relationship between stress and work productivity. The research question will be: Is there a positive relationship between stress and work productivity? It will evaluate the hypothesis that stressed employees record the lowest work productivity. The study will use quasi-experimental as a research design as it is the best to test the causal relationship between stress and work productivity. The research design has been selected for several reasons, such that when conducting the test, the participants will not be assigned randomly to experimental groups. They will be categorized before they are assigned to an experimental group. Additionally, it does not require a control group which can be expensive since it may demand the use of vast sample size and more resources.
The study will identify employees from a selected company who will participate in the study. They will fill out a questionnaire containing questions that evaluate their stress levels and how they affect their productivity. The questionnaire will sample the stressed employees who will be used in the study. Stress will be an independent variable, while work productivity will be a dependent variable.
