The store is owned by a Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee who owns 20 other Dunkin’ Donuts locations. Your employer took an employee inventory and examined all current employees. It has been noted by the owner that you have a highly successful track record. You have been recognized for doing an exceptional job staffing, leading, training, coaching, and managing people. You have been recognized for successfully managing all key components of your store and have successfully managed key business drivers such as cash, profits, growth, asset utilization, and people. In regards to the metrics that are used to measure their stores for sales, quality, and customer service, your store is the top performing store in their system.
Congratulations! You have just been promoted to district manager! The Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee sees your growth potential and the growth potential in your geographic area. The owner now has committed significant capital and plans to open five new locations over the next two years. You will be given complete autonomy, authority, and responsibility to structure, staff, and operate these five new locations. You will be playing a key role in this expansion for growth.
For this assignment, you will prepare a four to five-page paper in which you explain your chosen job design and organizational design as the new District Manager for Dunkin’ Donuts.
You must organize your paper using the following section headings and include additional section headings as needed:

Introduction
District managers are responsible for monitoring all the franchise store's operations in a particular area or district. They must be experts in multi-tasking as they need to monitor various stores' processes and functions in one area to meet the franchisee's sales objectives. The result of the evaluations shall be reported back to the senior management company. Specifically, successful district managers have a detailed understanding of retail aesthetics and consumer behavior. They are excellent problem-solvers who propose solutions based on proper analysis of situations or presented data (Waters, 2019).
Additionally, they are responsible for the management team's growth and development, safeguarding district-wide consumer satisfaction, improved quality of products, and setting and financial security. To properly execute all of this, a newly assigned district manager's tasks to construct a job and organizational design (Waters, 2019).
Job Design
The principal goal of a job design is to integrate the staff's necessities and the requirements of the organization. Some of the staff's necessities that need attention include job satisfaction, challenges, interest, and achievement. By contrast, organizational requirements involve improved productivity, high technical proficiency, and excellent work quality (Kalpana, n.d.).
Like Dunkin' Donuts' new district manager, it is best to utilize two job design strategies: job rotation and job enrichment. Since there are five proposed franchisee locations, it is best to utilize job rotation to prevent monotony on the staff's side. Continuously doing the same assigned job every day may result in tediousness, leading to a lack of motivation. This can reduce the employees' overall function, resulting in decreased productivity (AIHR Digital, n.d.).
Here, the employees shall be rotated to another job of the same nature. The primary advantage of job rotation is that it eliminates boredom and increases their potential by allowing them to experience more than one task. Its primary disadvantage is it may cause an interruption in the employees' routine and the organization's system when done frequently (Akbari & Maniei, 2017).
Thus, as the new district manager, job rotation shall be executed only once every three months. The number of employees who shall be included in the rotation shall be half of the one-half of the staff numbers per location so that there will be others who shall remain to teach the upcoming newly rotated staff members.
Additionally, job enrichment shall be utilized by the district manager to enhance staff motivation. It also improves the employees' motivating potential score (MPS), which is computed using the formula:
