Conflict in organizations is not only inevitable but is also a key driver for positive change and innovation. If everyone remained at ease with the status quo, societies would not progress in the way that they have historically done. The outcomes of conflict can often be tied to the concepts of power and politics in an organization. Those who maintain the balance of power in a relationship can arguably leverage this power to affect the outcome.

Sometimes it can become quite difficult to define the term power since it varies from one person to the other. Politics refers to the way of governance in the society. In most of the societies, political conflicts occur on a regular basis and they are triggered by a number of factors. In an organization, conflicts occur on a regular basis but depending on how these conflicts are handled, they can have positive consequences on the organization or negative consequences. The purpose of this paper is to provide a self-assessment on the different ways through which conflicts have impacted my life and my career. Personally, I do have my own political beliefs and I do think that these beliefs have affected my career is one way or another. When you are working with your group of people, there are times where you will get to talk politics and share something in relation to governance.
