The competency set that was selected in this case was Patient-centered care and Evidence-based practice (EBP). In this particular lesson, learners were taught how to don sterile gloves during their nursing practice. The activity took place in a classroom setting to and this helped me to effectively evaluate the students' performance while donning sterile gloves. The learners were required to don sterile gloves without breaking sterile technique. The lesson started with a video presentation of a person donning gloves. After the video presentation, discussion on the technique took place then followed by a period of question and answer session. This approach was effective and in accordance with ASSURE Model (Portney, 2020). I first analyzed the analyzed to ensure they could easily comprehend the concepts and then stated the objectives of the lesson to prepare them psychologically to undertake the lesson. Methods were selected keenly to explain to the learners how to don the sterile gloves and the importance of the practice in nursing.
