Introduction
Obesity as detailed is considered as an epidemic in the United States, an aspect that has seen the bariatric surgery as an intervention in its prevention. Given this, nurses play a significant role in providing care to patients before the surgery, during the process, and after surgery(Praveenraj, et.al.2015). However, the inclusion of theory in nursing practice remains an essential element that provides systematic approaches, promotes comprehensive and individualized approaches to meeting the patient's needs, and initiates an organized space in the process of treatment. In consideration of this, the middle range theory, for instance, the inclusion of the theory of experiencing transitions can be utilized in the development of practice and research that enhance the treatment process. This paper seeks to determine approaches that may be incorporated in incorporating the theory into practice.

Does bariatric patient undergoing byPASS surgery stand a better chance of managing post-operative weight gain if the nurse is a part of an extensive team as opposed to specialized nurse within eight weeks of recovery period?

The middle-range theory is a sociological approach used to in theorizing and integrating the elements of research theory in research. A theory that is developed in a manner that is typically close to the middle-range theory may, in this case, be used in practice and as a tool that guides the process of care. The concept can be initiated in defining and analyzing an environment that would support the wellbeing of the patients undergoing byPASS surgery, thus giving evidence that the theory can be incorporated in other studies(Praveenraj, et.al.2015).
