Timeline for the Program

The NIOSH Violence Prevention for Nurses’ web-based training program offers an excellent opportunity to initiate teamwork and safety culture across all sectors of care. Implementing the training program will take approximately two months to allow for the installation of the online training applications and ensure their smooth running. The program will run for one year, pending a review of its efficacy.

The implementation also demands the acquisition of new computers and updating some existing ones to allow for easy access to the web-based training courses. The management will further adjust its motivational approach on employees to include appreciation for the time spent in undertaking the training processes.

The intervention developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety (NIOSH) is a web-based or online training program for nurses and other direct caregivers across the different healthcare sectors.
