Roger's diffusion of innovation theory is a particularly good theoretical framework to apply to an EBP project. However, students may also choose to use change models, such as Duck's change curve model or the transtheoretical model of behavioral change. Other conceptual models, such as a utilization model (Stetler's model) and EBP models (the Iowa model and ARCC model) can also be used as a framework for applying your evidence-based proposal in clinical practice. Apply one of the above models and carry your implementation through each of the stages, phases, or steps identified in the chosen model.
In 500-750 words (not including the title page and references page), discuss applying one of the change models to the implementation plan:
Identify the selected model or theoretical framework and discuss its relevance to your project.
Discuss each of the stages in the change model/framework.
Describe how you would apply each stage in your proposed implementation.
In addition, create a conceptual model of the project. Although you will not be submitting the conceptual model you design in Topic 4 with the narrative, you will include the conceptual model in the appendices for the final paper.
You are required to cite three to five sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and nursing content.

Introduction
In the implementation a modern surgical plume evacuation system that comprises a downward airflow system for the filtering and redistribution of the filtered air to the operating theatres, Rogers’s Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) Theory will serve as a change model. While Rogers developed the DOI theory in 1962 as social science theory, it is still applicable in nursing practice to explain how an idea can gain momentum and spreads or diffuses over time through a specific social system or population (Mohammadi, Poursaberi & Salahshoor, 2018). While there have been developments in applying evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing practice in recent years, its adoption has remained limited. This paper uses knowledge, persuasion, and decision, and adoption stages of Rogers’s Diffusion of Innovation theory to implement a modern surgical plume evacuation system that comprises a downward airflow system for the filtering and redistribution of the filtered air to the operating theatres.
Stages of the Change Model
Rogers’s DOI theory as a change model involves four main stages: knowledge, persuasion, and decision, and adoption (Mohammadi, Poursaberi & Salahshoor, 2018). According to Rogers, knowledge is produced after individuals have been exposed to an existing process of innovation and have some basic understanding of the process and mechanisms. Getting to the second stage, which is persuasion, requires that individuals form a certain view towards the innovation predicated on the perceived mechanisms or attributes. These attributes may include the complexity and relative benefits the innovation offers. According to Mohammadi, Poursaberi, and Salahshoor (2018), the decision stage usually occurs when target individuals are involved in a process or activity that would need them to choose between either following the process or dismissing the innovation. The fourth stage is the adoption stage which occurs when concerned individuals decide that the idea or innovation is the ultimate option for best practice.
Applying the Change Model
