Evidence-Based Practice Proposal - Section E: Change Mode

Research Paper Instructions:

In 500-750 words (not including the title page and reference page), apply a change model to the implementation plan. Include the following:
Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory is a particularly good theoretical framework to apply to an EBP project. However, students may also choose to use change models, such as Duck's change curve model or the transtheoretical model of behavioral change. Other conceptual models presented such as a utilization model (Stetler's model) and EBP models (the Iowa model and ARCC model) can also be used as a framework for applying your evidence-based intervention in clinical practice.
Apply one of the above models and carry your implementation through each of the stages, phases, or steps identified in the chosen model.
In addition, create a conceptual model of the project. Although you will not be submitting the conceptual model you design in Topic 5 with the narrative, the conceptual model should be placed in the appendices for the final paper.
Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin. Please refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.
Upon receiving feedback from the instructor, refine "Section E: Change Model" for your final submission. This will be a continuous process throughout the course for each section.

100.0 %Apply a change model to the implementation plan. Carry the implementation plan through each of the stages, phases, and/or steps identified in the chosen model.
Implementation plan is loosely connected to a change model. Inaccurate comprehension of material is revealed, as is the lack of ability to apply information. Subject matter is absent, inappropriate, and/or irrelevant. Surface errors are pervasive enough that they impede communication of meaning. Inappropriate word choice and/or sentence construction are used.
Implementation plan is loosely connected to the chosen change model. Identification, interpretation, and evaluation of the change model are not presented comprehensively and/or may be ambiguous at times. A lack of comprehension is displayed, but there is an attempt to apply information. There is weak, marginal coverage of subject matter with large gaps in presentation. Frequent and repetitive mechanical errors distract the reader. Inconsistencies in language choice (register), sentence structure, and/or word choice are present.
Interpretation and evaluation of the change model are not presented comprehensively and may be ambiguous at times. A basic description of the implementation plan through the stages, phases, and/or steps identified in the chosen model is provided. Comprehension of the material is exhibited and there is clearly an attempt to integrate and apply information. All subject matter is covered in minimal quantity and quality. Some mechanical errors or typos are present, but are not overly distracting to the reader. Correct sentence structure and audience-appropriate language are used.
Analysis and evaluation draw warranted use of the specified change model, and rationale is appropriately supported. A detailed outline of the implementation plan through each of the stages, phases, and/or steps identified in the chosen model is provided. An individual interpretation on the effectiveness of the model in relation to the implementation plan is presented, but it lacks depth. Integrative and accurate comprehension is demonstrated and information is applied as appropriate. There is comprehensive coverage of subject matter. Prose is largely free of mechanical errors, although a few may be present. A variety of sentence structures and effective figures of speech are used.
Analysis and evaluation draw warranted use of the specified change model, and rationale is appropriately supported. A detailed descriptive narrative of the implementation plan through each of the stages, phases, and/or steps is provided, as is a solid interpretation of the change model in relation to the implementation plan. Appropriate evaluation of the effectiveness of the model is provided, demonstrates clarity and specificity of comprehension, and synthesizes all relevant information. Coverage extends beyond what is needed to support subject matter. Writer is clearly in command of standard, written, academic English.

SECTION E: CHANGE MODEL
The selected change model is Roger’s Diffusion of Innovation Theory. Rogers’s theory explains how a new concept or idea progressively spreads to the mainstream population through diverse adoption stages. The theory states that a new idea, behavioral change or innovation gradually progresses toward full momentum and ultimately diffuses to the entire population(Magda et al., 2016). Diffusion leads to more people adopting a new idea, behavior or innovation.
The implementation of the obesity preventive intervention program among Black Hispanic women aged 40-59 will go through different diffusion stages proposed by Rogers. Prior to the adoption of the lifestyle change framework that encompass adoption of an active lifestyle, physical fitness and healthy dieting, the new innovation will gradually diffuse before it will finally gain widespread acceptance among the subjects(Ellsworth, 2000). According DOI theory, a target population will not simultaneously adopt a new idea or behavior since adoption is progressive as some people are quick to embrace the new innovation while others will take time before they can finally adopt (Magda et al., 2016). The proposed obesity intervention will not be automatically adopted by the target population. The five categories of adopters are innovators, early adopters, early majority, late majority and laggards. According to Rogers’ theory, innovators and early adopters have unique characteristics that delineate them from other adopters(Ellsworth, 2000).
Application of Roger’s Diffusion of Innovation Theory
Innovators
These will be the first people among the subjects will be willing to embrace the proposedbehavioral change. According to Roger’s (1962), innovators are adventures people who are apt at trying new ideas, and are high risk takers willing to test or introduce new ideas(Magda et al., 2016). A feasibility study will be conducted to establish the innovators who will then be targeted in Phase 1 of implementation. The innovators will be used in piloting the implementation as well as in promotingrapid diffusion of theintervention to the rest of the population (Wonglimpiyarat & Yuberk, 2005). Using the innovators, the benefits of the intervention will become manifest thereby encouraging more adoption.
Early Adopters
This cadre comprises of opinion leaders who are apt at embracing change and new ideas. They acknowledge the need for change and are ready to adopt new ideas without need for information (Sanson, 2004). Phase 2 of the implementation will target early adopters. The study will identify opinion leaders within the target population to help in promoting adoption. Strategies that will be employed to appeal to them will encompass distribution of fitness journals, nutritional guides and other informational material. Early adopters are opinion leaders who occupy leadership positions and are well placed to promote and influence behavioral change among the population (Magda et al., 2016). Early adopters will be targeted in Phase 2 given that they have the potential to provoke rapid diffusion and hence...
