Methods for Dissemination
Dissemination can be conceptualized as a strategy for spreading evidence-based project interventions or information to the target audience via established methods applying planned strategies (Conway et al., 2019). The project is focused on addressing maternal health issues across different population groups in the United States (U.S.). One-on-one meetings can be used to communicate ideas on maternal issues affecting Americans at my practice site. Selected officials will likely remember such meetings and leverage the input made during such interactions. However, time limitations could render this dissemination strategy infeasible or impractical in practice. I would use policy or issue briefs to communicate information to the nursing community. A policy brief refers to a summary of research evidence in a detailed format. It typically includes charts, infographics, tables, or some form of data visualization targeted toward a given audience to trigger the desired action. A policy brief is an effective advocacy strategy across diverse public health topics, including maternal health (Brownson et al., 2018). The key objective of the issue brief is convincing the nursing community to use the most valid and evidence-based intervention when providing maternal care to Americans.
Selected Journals for Submission and Rationale
The two journals I would consider for submission are the Maternal and Child Health Journal and the Journal of Women's Health. The Maternal and Child Health Journal is a peer-reviewed healthcare journal covering maternal as well as child health issues. It publishes articles on a quarterly basis. I chose this journal because it provides a unique platform to advance scientific and professional knowledge regarding maternal as well as child health issues.
