Repetitive incidents of falls in hospitalized patients are a significant concern in any facility. Lelaurin and Shorr (2019) indicate that 2% of falls occur daily and that 1 in every four of these incidents are dangerous, with 10% of them being serious. Heng et al. (2020) supports these observations and add that their occurrence worsens burdens to healthcare facilities and the patients. This recognition explains why when similar clinical situations occurred in a facility I was volunteering, the institution had to make prompt decisions by instituting rapid preventative measures in the wards to address the problem.
