As an advanced practice nurse (APN), it is my responsibility to use my clinical knowledge and skills to solve different health-related problems (Dahlin, 2016). We are often put into difficult situations and have to deal with patients who are not ready to cooperate in the best possible ways. One such situation is presented in this scenario. Here, I am asked to assist a single mother and her two daughters.
First of all, I would like to ask the mother why she thinks that her daughters need medical assistance. If she gives a proper and correct answer, then the family history will be required. This history will include pelvic exams, painful menstrual cycles, heavy bleeding, and cysts (Gibson, 2016). The most important thing is that the patient and their family have to agree to provide these details. We are ethically obliged and responsible to protect and save their sensitive information. I promise that none of their data will be shared with anyone until or unless the assistance of another doctor or senior nurse is required.
