Skills and Strategies of Soccer
Several fundamental skills and strategies are essential for every soccer player's development. A player must pick up the ball and keep the team efficient during a competitive game. The most effective way in acquiring these skills is through a high level of repetition. Football players must learn essential skills and awareness to succeed in competitive games. Ball control, dribbling, passing, attacking, and defending are critical soccer skills to hone. Tactical awareness involves knowing one's role and being able to have a position on the pitch while demonstrating the competence to make good and effective choices (Flaherty, 2018).
Skills with descriptions and visuals
The primary soccer skills can be summarized as game intelligence, technique, physique maintenance, and proper mindset (ERTHEO, 2016). Game intelligence includes tactical awareness and spatial or positional awareness (ERTHEO, 2016). Game intelligence is determined by the player's ability to make intelligent field decisions at high speed. A brilliant footballer aims to ensure a clean game, reducing energy consumption and maximizing results. Game intelligence means playing more intelligently rather than harder (ERTHEO, 2016). One way of nurturing game intelligence is by training over the year with different players and coaching staff. That allows players to acquiesce with various viewpoints and broaden their strategies.
Tactical awareness
It refers primarily to a football player who possesses the competence to make effective choices during a football match. According to Bayer's action principles, tactical contexts in soccer can be set out (Bayer, 1992).  The principles of action in the attack include maintenance of possession, penetration of the defense (going towards the goal), and attacking. In protection, the principles of activity include the recovery of ball possession and the prevention of opposition advances (Villora, 2013). In instances where the game context involves defense penetration, the player must act to get nearer to the goal, for example, pushing the ball towards the goal, or handing off the ball to a player nearer to the destination (Gutiérrez et al., 2011). The inverse applies when the game context shifts to defense. Tactical awareness can be accomplished through group exercises which build up this skill and compel players in game-like situations to make flawless snap decisions (Flaherty, 2018).
Instructional Strategies/Drills
Taking three attackers to the goal against two defenders can be great tactical practice. The attacking team can start every rehash 25 yards away from the plan. They start playing and try to score on the coach's signal while the two defensive players stop them.  The soccer coach could use this training to teach players when to dribble and make a cross pass to a teammate. In this exercise, deciding when to clear a shoot is also trained (Flaherty, 2018).
