* NGOs aim or functions to deliver service, provide education and basic skills to members of the target population. This helps us understand the true nature of NGOs such as the Red Cross.

* NGOs work to benefit people. A non-profit organization's number one goal is to provide service at a maximum level. The only situation that the level of service is accepted to decrease is if the resulting increase in profit leads to creating an actual new service that is producing a loss above the initial service cut' (Rhoades-Catanach, 2000).
