ESEARCH PAPER ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
Write a 7-8 page research paper on the future prospects of an air carrier of your choice, postulating a hypothesis on whether or not this airline will emerge unscathed and thriving, while analyzing potential avenues for success and describing current or past hardships. Expectations are that critical thinking and analyzing skills are used, that you clearly articulate and defend your proposed hypothesis, and ascertain logical reasoning for your conclusion.
INSTRUCTIONS
The paper must adhere to current APA formatting and include a title page and reference page (none of which are included in the page count). A minimum of 6 sources must be used. Do not use Wiki sites. The goal is to maximize using academic, scholarly resources.
Paper is written in 3 parts covered over the span of the course:
1. Overview/ Preview Paper – The overview paper is to provide a clear depiction of the chosen topic. The topic is to be introduced to the reader. The research question is clearly stated along with a thorough but concise overview. A conclusion is written that has logical reasoning. The overview is expected to be written with a 150-250 word count.
2. Outline and Reference Page Paper – The outline written is to be at minimum a three tier outline. Meaning, the outline is to have a minimum three sub-levels for each main heading. At minimum, six scholarly sources are used to support research. A reference page must be provided.
3. Research Paper – The research paper must included the following
a. An Introduction - A clear thesis statement introduces the topic the paper is going to address; The introduction provides a clear overview of the paper's contents.
b. Content - All of the following conditions are met: Content is substantive with good development of ideas and concepts; Assertions are clearly supported and/or illustrated; Understanding of the subject is evident; Focus of the paper is clear and coherent.
c. Conclusion - All of the following conditions are met: The conclusion offers a good summary of issues covered in the paper; The conclusion appropriately ties the main points of the paper together, reiterating the thesis statement; The conclusion offers suggestion for further study. At minimum 6 scholarly sources must be integrated within the research paper. Current APA formatted is required.
The paper must be 7-8 pages in length. Page count does not include the Title Page nor the Reference Page.
