A Divisive Scientific Debate that has Pitted Scientists The reading by Gravlee presents a divisive scientific debate that has pitted scientists and anthropologists against each other for decades. Interacting with the diverse perceptions and views over the years regarding race, biology, genetics, and their interrelationships were interesting. As a result, this reading has surprised me regarding the simplistic nature that past anthropologists approached the concepts of racial inequalities, especially within the health circle. The push and pull conflicts exposed by Gravelee demonstrate a need for adopting a constructive approach (50-51). Thus, it has enabled me to expand my thinking regarding biology, race, and cultural concepts.
