The social environment of the classroom can help or hinder learning. How will language learners from different cultures change the environment? In what ways will their presence add or detract from classroom environment? A basic premise of the organizing tools discussed in this chapter (CALLA, sheltered instruction, cooperative learning, problem-based and project learning, and differentiated instruction) is that language learners are active participants in all areas of classroom teaching and learning. What questions do you have about actively including these students in classroom lessons? What concerns does this notion raise?

Teaching a student takes more than just focusing on the books but the emotional well-being of a student, environment, and motivation. Therefore, every excellent educator understands a student’s background, culture, and capabilities within and outside the classroom. Additionally, educators understand the appropriate accommodations and motivation to use to help a student in learning and academic excellence. Further, according to research the physical environment of a student helps boost their grades and improve performance when well executed. This paper will provide a reaction to chapter 4; Organizing a classroom for language learning.
According to Dr. Study, the learning environment impacts the overall learning of a student and their remembering capacity ( 2022). For instance, if a student is in a constantly distracting environment, it affects their attention and their ability to concentrate. This means that the student will have a problem remembering what they were taught and their attention. To enhance performance an educator should ensure that the learning environment is conducive for both student and the teacher. This can be done by avoiding any form of distraction and applying teaching methods that a student can easily understand such as songs and charts.
Additionally, an educator should take an extra step to understand students’ backgrounds and cultures. This can be learned through the student or the parents. By understanding their culture, a teacher can develop a personal relationship with the student which will improve their relationship and understanding capacity.
