In modern society, children are perceived as genuine joy. Newborn babies add energy to a home and ultimately promote a healthier lifestyle in the household. Parents and particularly fathers are always excited by the idea that their family legacy is promising as the children will carry the legacy on across generations. Newborn drastically changes family and people's routine by adding meaning to life (Grunow & Evertsson, 2019). Notably, newborns strengthen relationships across the family. However, the majority of first time parents rarely understand the life stressors linked with child conceiving. First-time mothers are sometimes coupled with challenges which include health difficulties that arise while delivering the baby, conceiving the baby and carrying the baby. In most cases, these difficulties exist internally in the physical organs. Unfortunately, stillborn, miscarriages and child death attributable to pregnancy are way too common today.
Worth noting, the awaiting parents are over-prepared for the newborn and obtain a wide range of information from books, prenatal classes, friends, family and strangers on the newborns (Grunow & Evertsson, 2019). However, amidst the obsessive preparation and planning, about 10% of couples experience divorce when their firstborn begins schooling. This subjects us into the question that why newborns trigger alimony and acrimony.
The dynamics in income, duties and family home layout are to blame for the plight. Parenting comes with additional responsibilities and accountability. Most couples lack adequate preparation on how to manage their finances, share responsibilities and how to embrace the dynamics in the home layout. As a result, couples end up hurting silently as much concern is focused on the children.
