The Bachelor is a reality television show which began in 2002. It is a series that circles around a particular bachelor who is legible for marriage. He gets attention from many women who can possibly become his wife. Conflicts exist in the series and provide a way of eliminating the women in the show. This comes about during dates and rose ceremonies. Elimination also proceeds to family levels and overnight dates in exotic places. Women are also able to quit if they are not interested in the bachelor (Harrison, 2013).
The mass media are important agent in the modern society. This is because it portrays the culture being dependent on the behavioral pattern of most people in the society (Galician, 2003). Galician continues to say that television has the greatest effect on people surpassing other forms of media (2003). Apart from entertainment it provides, it is a wildly accepted agent of socialization. This is because it exposes individuals to a wide range of people and situations. Galician views love in relation to the activities of mass media. She says that love is integration of passion, intimacy and commitment. In episode 17 of the Bachelor, Sean Lowe is heartbroken because of a break up with Emily Maynard.
