The Adverse Effects of Alcoholic Substances During Pregnancy

Reaction Paper Instructions:

You will write a persuasive and evidence-based introduction for your research brief. The introduction should make a clear case for why your specific topic is important. All claims must be backed with evidence. The text should lead to a clear argument about who can use the findings from the research brief and how. You will also attach the citations and abstracts of 3 primary research studies that you plan on using for the literature review portion of your research brief. This will ensure that your topic is viable based on the current literature.
It is very important that you review the Sample Research Brief on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FASD) prior to starting this assignment. The introduction portion of the paper encompasses all the text that appears underneath the title of the paper and before the Literature Review heading. You are writing this introductory text only. Evidence for the introduction can come from multiple types of sources; you do not need to rely on only primary research studies for this section. Once you transition into the Literature Review portion of the paper later in the semester, you will be restricted to primary research studies only. At this time, you are only being asked to attach the citations/abstracts for 3 primary research studies that you plan to use in the Literature Review portion of your brief.
Upload your assignment through Blackboard as a Word attachment (in the appropriate lesson week). This assignment also needs to be submitted to turnitin.com. Please see the rubric below to learn how you will be evaluated:

Alcohol use During pregnancy
In terms of social engagement and pleasure, alcohol has played a lengthy part in culture. Nonetheless, excessive consumption is often linked to a swing of substantial well-being and societal concerns, such as unemployment, car accidents, violence, shattered marriages, and unstable housing. Alcohol usage causes 88,000 deaths in the United States each year, accounting for one out of every ten deaths among people with jobs (Sundermann et al., 2019). In 2006, alcoholism cost the United States $223.5 billion, with binge drinking accounting for three-quarters of the financial harm and half of the confirmed deaths. Alcohol abuse impacts individuals of all ages, socio-economic settings, and races, with part of these individuals also abusing other substances. Moreover, this paper seeks to underscore the adverse effects of alcoholic substances during pregnancy.
Alcohol consumption during pregnancy is still widespread, with the worldwide level of alcohol consumption projected to be 10 percent from 1984 to 2014, with percentages of usage changing based on the nation where the woman lives (Sundermann et al., 2019). There exists nothing like a safe time to use alcohol throughout pregnancy. Throughout pregnancy, predominantly before a woman comprehends she is pregnant, alcohol causes issues for the fetus. Alcohol usage during the first trimester of gestation can result in an altered facial appearance in the infant (DeJong et al., 2019). Alcohol consumption during pregnancy can lead to growth and central nervous system defects (— for example, behavioral issues low birth weight). During pregnancy, the baby's nervous system is growing and can be harmed by alcohol consumption at any moment.
Alcohol consumption during pregnancy provides distinct hazards to the growing fetus and has been related to probably more prevalent hostile pregnancy complications than initially assumed. Because 50 percent of all pregnancies are unwanted, a fetus could be subjected to alcoholic traces in utero at critical phases of embryologic development before a female even realizes the pregnancy (Sundermann et al., 2019). Alcohol consumpti...
