Reference Letter for Application on Graduate School of Education

Other (Not Listed) Instructions:

Hi,
The requirement of this reference letters are:
1. Applicant's intellectual ability
2. Applicant's talent and strength, as well as weaknesses or developmental needs
3. Expectations regarding what the individual will be doing in five - ten years and their contribution to the field
4. I will include 4 references (Professor Dick's Reference that we need to continue amending, and 2 other reference letters that i found from successful applicants last year)
Last year, my application to Harvard Graduate School of Education failed my reference Professor Dick was infected by Covid19, so i think he messed up the reference letter. I have spoken to the school again, and they allow Professor Dick to update the reference letter. However, Professor Dick is in the hospital now, and it is not convenient for him to rewrite the letter. All i can do is get someone really good to contunue add on points to what he wrote last year. Kindly refer to the attachment
If you read his letter, it was pretty general. However, the course I intended to apply is called Educational Leadership in Harvard Graduate School of Education (https://www(dot)gse(dot)harvard(dot)edu/masters/online-program) - clearly the school wanted something more than general statement, they wanted to know how my referee can share my capabilities rather than just education/Career. They wanted to now my personality qualities like how my capabilities can be linked to the success of this course, and my ability traits will proof to them that i will likely succeed in the future.
If you read the detail of this course, the course focuses on race, equity, leadership, diversity, development, inclusion, navigate politics or communicate effectively. Can we extend Professor Dick's reference letter and include about these elements, e.g Before I started my PhD, I went to Professor Dick and asked him for some advice. He asked me what do i wanted to achieve and where do i see myself in the next 10 years after that course. I told him i really hope to start up a company by build a website, and this website will offer various free education to help disabled people to learn since education is not popular among disabled people, e.g. education for blind people - it is hard to build such a website as it require strong background in universal access, human computer interaction and learning curves, but if i could find a solution, i could have solved some of those elements provided by this course, such as inequality, disparity, and leadership since to date there is no website that offer free education for blind people. This is why the PhD is just a course to help me achieve my goals.
Of course, we should not deep dive too detail about what i am working now, but I am a digital consultant, my clients call me a digital advisor because my role require a lot of communication and educating them how to success by achieving their KPI goals. (I am not sure how do we relate this to the Educational Leadership course - only way i can think of is that my clients do not know too much about digital marketing compared to their competitors, so they are leveraging on my skills to help them succeed - if i relate it to the detail of this course i am applying, i am actually focusing on equity, leadership, diversity since no one knows much about digital marketing, development? and communication?). This is just a reference, you may want to blend in with our own suggestion as long as it fit the purpose of this course.
Try not deep dive too much into my career since i know Harvard wanted to know how can i succeed in this course and what do i wanted to achieve (*Please allow me to share a sample reference letter provided by someone who have sucessfully enrolled to the course last year. You may write this letter based on similar structure as the letter attached).
* Some points you may wish to include on the reference letter
- Professor Dick is a Director of Research in the University. I know him since 2009. He was my PhD supervisor.
- We became very close since I always contacted him when i have any issues, and usually i will speak to him not only to discuss about the PhD research, but we also share our personal views on a specific topic (e.g. technologies) since he is an expert in computer communication, computer networks and security, and also in human computer interaction.
- Sometimes, we will also meet up for some drinks and dinner, where we play board Chess. We will visit the museums, hike and also pay a visit to ophanage homes in london.
- The University gave me a scholarship to complete my PhD research (it is called University Scholarship)
- We are still connected until today, and covid19 did not stopped us from meeting up because we still contacting each other over the phone, once every few months.
- Professor Dick thinks that i am extremely talented and motivated (here are some personality traits he suggested: integrity, leadership, curiosity, creativity, empathy, perseverance, motivation, ambition, collaboration, confidence, and others) since a person has to be extremely motivated and committed to quality to be able to complete a phd to him.
- Dick thinks i am a good tutor too since i often conduct some of his classes, and he thinks that i will be extremely successful since i often find my own ways to solve missing puzzles when i was doing a PhD, (i am not sure how can these be related to educational leadership).
- Understood they wanted to know my strength, but also weaknesses (I am not sure if weaknesses should be inside this letter since referenc letter means writing something really good), but if you are going to include some weaknesses, then try to pick something not harmful at all.
- Please write as vivid and detail as possible, and the way you help writing this letter is as if Professor Dick is looking at me from distance when i was talking to people, doing my job, etc (from that angle)
Thank you

To whom it may Concern,
I am pleased to write a recommendation letter for Mr. A to proudly support his application to the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Mr. A is passionate about computers and an exemplary educator to his peers and colleagues. He is one of the few students committed to changing the world through passion, research, and dedication. Mr. A was an excellent student and earned his Ph.D. scholarship for his academic excellence. Among his many passions, Mr. A was committed to psychology throughout his school life. Even though he was a computer student, he integrated psychology into his research centered on Human-Computer Interface (HCI). It is not a surprise now he wants to pursue his passion in another period of academic study.
I met A in 2019 as a Ph.D. research student at my university. He is one of the few students who pay attention to details and is determined to achieve their dreams no matter the challenges. Before starting his Ph.D. project, A came to me for advice and was very ardent about what he wanted to be. I asked him what he wanted to do and where he saw himself in 10 years. His answers were articulate. He needed to own a start-up company in Tech in which he will build a website that offers online education. Further, he wishes to provide free education to students with disability through the same website. This represented his selfless nature and ability to think about other individuals.
During our time together, Mr. A exhibited strong talent in computer-augmented projects which involved individuals with cognitive impairment. He made sure they interacted together and made them feel appreciated in the field of computers. More often than, he would hang out with them and always make them feel valued and cared for. Whenever they needed assistance, he was on the frontline to assist them, and if he could not find the required assistance, he sought help from other professors, including me. His passion for humanity presents him to be a dynamic servant and charismatic leader, needed in this time and era.
Mr. A's most vital qualities are the ability to communicate his mind, collaboration, and consistency toward his dreams. He was not easily swayed by the challenges he faced when with us. Instead, he appr...
