Using the templates on p. 51 and 52, draft your paper making sure to integrate key quotations from the essay.

Well-integrated quotations in every body paragraph that show mastery of the “sandwich method” and use TSIS templates to transition in and out of quotations
A Works Cited page done correctly in MLA style
use Mchangama's essay to practice summarizing, quoting, and using other's words in your own analysis. Write a short essay (about 500 words) responding to it, which you will submit to the dropbox below. You might discuss what you learned from it that you hadn't previously thought of, or relate his experience to some of your own. You might also decide that you disagree with him. You should have the following:
An introductory paragraph summarizing his main points and leading in to your own thesis statement.
Body paragraphs where you integrate sentences and phrases from Mchangama into your own writing. I'm not just looking for correctness in citations, but some fluidity in transitioning from his words to your own. Use the templates in TSIS to both introduce quotations and to transition from them back to your own points

Banning Hate Speech won’t End Extremist Violence
In the article "Banning Hate Speech Won't End Extremist Violence" by Jakob Mchangama, the author argues that hate speech laws will not effectively solve the problem of extremist violence. Mchangama points out that hate speech laws are often vague, difficult to enforce, and can be used to restrict freedom of speech. He also notes that hate speech laws are often implemented in countries with weak rules of law, which results in the laws being abused for political purposes. The author believes that a better solution is to address the root causes of extremist violence, such as poverty, inequality, and lack of education (Ani).
Mchangama's argument was well-supported and thought-provoking.
