1 Do you see any similarities among some or all of these cities? What important differences do you see – besides existing in different places and under different rulers?
Baghdad and Mexico City are similar in many ways. The most crucial similarity they share is that they are both orderly cities. Some rules are imposed, and citizens must abide by them. In Baghdad, for example, there are supervisors on the streets. They ensure the residents’ cleanliness, sanitation, and comfort. The presence of the supervisors indicates that the city is in order. The rulers impose rules that benefit not only themselves but also their citizens. Hence, a clean city is one in which people are safe from acquiring any disease.
