The MAGTF is the fourth dimension of the joint forces that unite the three components of combat in heavily expeditionary and amphibian dogmas. One of the tension may crop up in terms of competing for resources such as funding and missions between the marine forces and the united states army. Due to the nature of the marine corps, they must work together with the other arms of the American defenses. Joint operations are a warfighting advantage which means that they must embrace this critical role fully (Berger, pp 5). This can mean an encroachment in roles and missions. In addition, when it comes to combat with enemies, both the army and the marine corps have a different approach. The army may want to deploy large forces while the marine deploys smaller troops that can maneuver air, sea, and land discreetly.
