1. Yes, I do find support for the two and their differences. Piaget’s theories are a major part of everyday life to be lived in allowing the child to explore certain problems and observe how the child reacts. In Watson's lecture he spoke about Piaget observing his own children and giving the example of a child asking a question why do the clouds move in the sky? And his response would be why do you think?" That example is how important it was to view the child's mistakes and build on them. Piaget is also criticized for underestimating culture and surroundings have a lot to do with cognitive development unlike, Vygotsky, he believed that the child development could be more understood if the social and cultural surrounding supported it and the adult being willing and bel to help guide the child is a major point Vygotsky expresses.
2. I would combine Piaget's and Vygotsky's theories to provide a more valid account of real-life development in a way that level Piaget's willingness to let the child explore on their own and with Vygotsky's idea of an adult showing them the ropes. With both taking both assumptions I believe it would create a great balance of learning and learning from failures.
3. When a child is young they love to explore, I can reference Piaget's theory to a first grade child going on a field trip for the first time, the child gets to leave school to a new environment and have a certain freedom and fun experience while learning whether it be from the animals it sees or making a mistake and forgetting to stay in line with the rest of their peers.
4. I work at a juvenile detention; I see both theories on a daily basis. For example, Piaget's theory can be seen when a juvenile is explained the rules, and the youth forgets because it is their first time incarcerated but eventually understand by trial and error. Withing the scope of Vygotsky’s theory I can draw relation to the social work and guiding aspect of the juvenile where they are set up with a juvenile justice counselor to help them navigate and communicate through the legal prosses that seems overwhelming for many youths.

The post from Edwards provides an excellent support for the distinction between child development theories from both Piaget and Vygotsky. Piaget’s theory has based child cognitive development as an independent learning process through curiosity and exploring (Lally, & Valentine-French, 2017). Edward further provides an amazing example from the lecturer whereby Piaget’s child was curious to know why the clouds move. Also the post clearly shows the importance of Vygotsky theory where child development does not necessarily depend on curiosity of a scientist but also through interacting with the people around them.
