Plagiarism and Integrity
Plagiarism is generally defined as the act of trying to pass the work of someone else as though it were your own (Awasthi, 2019). Following are three types of plagiarism. The first example is a situation where one simply paraphrases the work of an author(s) without including proper citations. The second example is where a person submits the entire work of another author. This second type of plagiarism is referred to as complete plagiarism. The third example of plagiarism is copying the work of another student. This form of plagiarism is most common in the context of learning institutions (Díaz et al., 2018). These forms of plagiarism indicate a high lack of integrity in the pursuit of a baccalaureate degree.
