The “Schindler’s List" is a real classic story of the Holocaust. The movie has the energy to shock you, to make you feel ill to your stomach, to fill you with anger and leave you overwhelmed. No matter how much anyone thinks they know about the Holocaust, the horror and brutality in the film here truly enable anyone to witness the murder and destruction of a whole race. Some scenes are difficult to watch yet one must watch, to understand the nightmare the men, women, and children were thrust into. Nevertheless, the movie offers viewers both hope and chance to witness the power of human compassion, not from some superhuman but from an imperfect man who witnessed what was going on around him and decided to help. I think the movie is an amazing shot in black and white, and near the end scene when Ishtek gives Oscar a ring and the letter the survivors signed, that scene is as powerful as any movie I have watched. Hence, I think the movie is amazing and tremendous.
Some school systems do not teach students the traumatic history of the Holocaust or give additional information regarding such. Less information on the Holocaust is provided and is typically focused on perpetrators, and bystanders (Kohen, & Steinacher, 2019). For students like us who have been interested in history but did not know where to begin, "Schindler's List" movie is an excellent introduction into what occurred back there. Although it was not like a great history teaching, the film is a beautiful piece of information to check out, and one would even like to use it as a reference point compared to the current political situation.
