The way we communicate varies with the type of relationships we have we those we interact with. We exhibit either positive or negative communication behaviors in these interactions depending on the moods of the day (Beebe, Beebe, & Mark V. Redmond, 2014). These communications behaviors include certain actions we associate with words and gestures we employ to reinforce understanding of whatever we are trying to explain to the audience (Beebe, Beebe, & Mark V. Redmond, 2014). In this paper, am going to highlight some of the positive and negative communication behaviors that usually dominate the way we communicate with the following people; my mother, Ronald (a friend) and Susan (my classmate).
* Listening. This is a unique communication behavior I have had for a long time whenever am interacting with my mother. Whenever she is talking to me, I am always keen to hear and generate sense out of what she has said to me. I employ non-verbal behaviors such as maintaining eye contact when she is speaking, nodding my head to show in agreement with what she is telling me and leaning forward to show how much I'm involved in the conversation.
* Deliberating and discussing. I have always found myself exhibiting this kind of communication behavior when am interacting with my friend Ronald. Am amazed at how I engage him in a conversation where I get to agree with his ideas after having him to explain why he thinks in a particular way. Sometimes I disagree with him citing reasons until he is convinced. We respect each other's ideas when we cannot agree.
* Offering feedback. This is a communication behavior I have had whenever’ m interacting with my classmate Susan. Whenever we have a robust sum, we agree to research on it, and when I get the solution, I offer the feedback to her.
Problematic Communication Behavior I had With These People
* Blaming and projection. This problematic communication behavior would erupt between my classmate and me when one has proposed a solution to a problem that leads to cancellation by our instructor.
