Foundational Aspects of Confucianism
1. Ethical System
Confucianism's ethical systems include the yì and rén. In this case, yì is the practice in which the Confucians preserve moral and righteous character (Abbasi et al., 2023). In addition, this virtue is a requirement for people to enter heaven. Besides, rén ensures that people embrace humanity through having empathy for each other. Confucians use this system to ensure a good relationship between people. Therefore, yì and rén provide that there is a god relationship between the Confucians.
2. Founder/Venerated Ancestor
The founder of Confucianism is Zhougong, also known as the duke of Zhou. Notably, this individual found this religion around the 11th century (Abbasi et al., 2023). In addition, the Shang dynasty then embraced this religion around the 12th century. Zougong adopted the old covenant, marriage alliances, and blood ties among the Confucian to strengthen this religion. This instance ensured prosperity and peace among individuals.
3. God(s)/Deities/Spirits
Confucians do not believe in the existence of god(s) as a being. However, this religion believes in the existence of a supernatural power that controls humanity (Abbasi et al., 2023).
