Read Luke 19: 41-42. Have you ever been so disappointed in something that you just sat down and wept? In Luke 19:41-42, we hear of His great disappointment and frustration that He cannot help Jerusalem and its people. The people of Jerusalem do not accept His message of justice and peace, so the Temple and Jerusalem are to be destroyed again. Jesus is so upset that he weeps. We often forget that Jesus being fully human was able to experience all the emotions that normal people experience.
What does it mean to you that Jesus shares our humanity? Be specific and give examples

1. The Word became flesh to save us from sin, death, and eternal separation from God. He did so by reconciling us with God by atoning for our sins. Christ gave his life so we could live.
2. “The Word became flesh so that thus we might know God;s love ”. Jesus Christ, as truly human, is able to show us the true nature of God.
3. God took on flesh to be our model of holiness. Jesus shows us how to imitate him: love one another as he has loved us. (John 15:12)
