Lessons about God
1 How has your view of theology changed over the duration of this course? (200 words)
As the course started, my view about God was similar to the perspective of class prefects and police officers. The idea was that God was the person responsible for people for wrongdoing. However, the perception did not make me consider God as a threat. On the contrary, I viewed him as a necessary entity for maintaining order and fighting against evil. The set precedent, rendered me to obey the laws in scriptures because of fearing punishment. The thought of burning in hell or having bad luck because of attracting dark karma rendered me try as much as possible to live righteously. Thus, I did not view spiritual deities as emblems of love. However, the course content transformed the perception in a major way. The consideration of God as part of human beings helped to recognize that punishment is not His chief concern. The new perception of God is that He is the unseen human being who has complete awareness of his nature and the power he has to make every other entity obey Him. Therefore, through learning his mind, human beings gain the ability to do what appeared impossible previously. It appears that one becomes empowered through the knowledge of God. In that regard, drawing closer to God in terms of thoughts and actions does not lead to demoralization because of realizing the unreachable standard of holiness associated with Him. On the contrary, one gain the capacity to live by his word and ways through learning from his belief system. In other words, becoming more concerned about God makes a person less guilty and more aware of the possibility of living faultlessly.
2 How have you been able to practice the principles you learned from the course in your own life? (200 words)
I have applied the principle learned in class to make the world a better place instead of becoming competitive for selfish and personal gain. The fact that every human being is an extension of God infers that it is impossible to love...
