Defining the Problem
The problem at hand is time management. The character has numerous responsibilities, all of which are highly inclusive. The responsibilities stem from work, school parenting, taking care of parents, keeping in touch with siblings, personal social responsibilities, and healthcare. In regards to work, the individual has two jobs. The first requires her to physically attend the work premises every day from 0900 to 1800 hours. Therefore, the person is booked for the greatest part of the day during weekdays. The other job is on weekends, and the person requires attending to it once a week. The mandatory session for attending to the weekend work is on Saturday between 1500 and 2300 hours. As such, the time on weekends which would be used to take care of personal social responsibilities is limited by occupational responsibilities. Moreover, the individual is a student, requiring to attend the classroom from 1800 to 2200 hours on weekdays. The individual, therefore, would have worked on the personal social responsibilities on weekdays after attending school, but school responsibilities would not allow it. Furthermore, social responsibilities require collective involvement. She cannot work on fundraising for the music band and coach the soccer team without meeting and engaging the other stakeholders. Moreover, the character requires taking care of her parents since they cannot drive. Therefore, the individual tends to spend the evening time attending to family responsibilities such as taking care of parents and bonding with children. As such, the person perceives that she has limited time to include other responsibilities. However, there are additional tasks of urgency, such as completing two research papers, besides attending classes. The overwhelming responsibilities are beginning to weigh the individual down, resulting in health complications. The doctor found that the person has high blood pressure, excessive body weight, and an alarming cholesterol level. As a result, the patient spends about $ 200 monthly on medical bills.
Analyzing the Problem Scenario
The individual is likely to continue incurring high medical costs because of poor stress management. The lackluster time management exhibited causes the individual to have high psychological stress, which would cause chronic problems such as heart attack and stroke when combined with the already risky health vitals (Acabchuk et al., 4). Moreover, the individual is too busy to create time to engage in physical exercise. Hence, the lack of physical exercise increases the risk of a worsening health condition (Jansons et al., 1). In addition, the person is highly likely to fail in educational endeavors. Although there is the possibility that the individual is diligent in attending to school responsibilities, the pressure from other roles to be satisfied jeopardizes her concentration with classwork. As a result, the individual can incur further financial costs associated with repeating classes. Moreover, the individual is at risk of losing her reputation as a responsible and trustworthy community member. The fact that he/she is committed to the music ban...
