The human resource manager plays a key role in ensuring high-quality services are offered to patients in healthcare organizations. Like most other organizations, the main key roles of a human resource manager in healthcare organizations are hiring and firing (Aksenova et al., 2020). The manager is responsible for ensuring that the best talent is hired. With the best talent, the healthcare teams are likely to be strong and meet the needs of the patients sufficiently. Further, the manager should ensure that enough healthcare and support staff are employed in healthcare organizations. With enough employees, the services can go on unperturbed. The major beneficiary of these important moves is the patient since their care is maximized. In addition, the manager is also responsible for recommending the firing of any worker who may have violated their working terms.
The following are some functions of the human resource manager in terms of their support to a healthcare organization. First, the human resource manager is responsible for ensuring that any new hires are onboarded well. The role of onboarding new hires is quite important as it helps the hires get a glimpse of their working environment. The second role of the manager is to ensure that appropriate benefits and compensation are selected for employees. Benefits and compensation have been shown to play a key role in keeping the employees motivated (Karami et al., 2017). Motivated employees are more productive than those who are not motivated.
