Problem-Solving Essay: Part 2
Problem-solving essays tend to play a pivotal role in unveiling a particular problem and offer diverse ways of solving it. Therefore, it comprises identifying a problem, establishing a possible solution, and implementing a course of action. In such light of understanding, problem solving tends to help various platforms such as at the workplace. Moreover, the problem-solving technique can establish creative and practical solutions and show independence and initiative to employers. In relevance to the 18th century, French writer Voltaire believed that thinking was the key to knowledge such that sustained thinking cannot solve it (Clay, 2020). Therefore, he argued that nearly every problem could be solved by thinking. This paper's primary connotation is to critically define the situation in the scenario that I chose in the weekly assignment and apply the Problem Solving Process based on the article provided.
The Problem Definition
The main problem tends to be a challenging selection of accepting a supervisor's position and pursuing a bachelor's degree. Moreover, two options tend to be challenging in selecting one over the other because all offers play a significant role in my life. Therefore, at this point, I highly value promotion because of working for eleven years at my company without being promoted. Consequently, I had to join a college to pursue a bachelor’s degree to increase promotion chances. Therefore, the supervisor's position tends to complicate all my decisions. The employment offer tends to be linked to several disadvantages. For example, I would have to lose higher learning options; it would be challenging to get the promotion because of no bachelor's degree. On the other hand, earning a Bachelor's degree would grant me numerous employment opportunities; widen my knowledge base. Therefore, I would like to attain a bachelor’s degree. Apart from the reasonable offers that my former supervisor provides, I find it uncomfortable due to competent supervisors managing the company. All of the other supervisors at the supervisor level have a Master's degree. Notably, being an undergraduate, I think that I would get pressure. For instance, pressure on handling expectations would be too high such that, as an experienced individual, the company administration might expect more efficiency in terms of people management and work. Moreover, I would be limited in negotiations such as salary increase due to my qualifications. Therefore, I should choose to earn a Bachelor's degree over an employment offer because it would widen my knowledge and skills, hence handling issues ...
