True professionalism and good lawyering require that ethics become the core function of a lawyer's practice. All professionals need to be more than technicians are and thus exercise their moral conscience and technical skills. All professions have a code of conduct, including lawyers and architects; however, IPReg is far more restrictive than other professions, especially Architects' code of conduct.
Intellectual property regulation IPReg requires that all the registered persons are responsible under the rules not only for their acts and omissions but also for those endorsed by them (IPReg, 2021). However, for architects, instead of being held liable for the persons they engage in working for them, their code of conduct provides that they engage others to do the work as long as they are competent and are under their supervision (Architects Registration Board, 2021).
