Contribution of terroristic protest in 2009 to recession in Xinjiang

3. My research question is: How did the terroristic protest in 2009 lead to economic recession in Xinjiang.
And my hypothesis is: Terroristic protest causes population displacement which leads to economic decline.
I also upload the first paper which was done by another person but i did not get a good grade on that. So I would like you to continue the process of the research. Please do good on this.
This short paper is just to specify my central concept and things needs to be measured in the paper. For example, "success of Bill Gates" you need to measure what is success and define it.
For my research paper, there are three things you need to measure (which is approved by the professor): 1. terroristic protest, 2. economic decline, 3. Population displacement.
I will also upload one reading that the author has done a specific measure of the research, you can read it as an example to have an idea of how to do it.

This assignment asks you to specify a central concept you will address in your research paper. This concept can be either the outcome you seek to explain (dependent variable) or one of the factors that explain this outcome (independent variable).

Start by explaining which concept you seek to measure and how it relates to your research. Then, define your concept and operationalize it. What specific indicators will you use to measure your concept? How will you measure your concept? What type of variable is your concept? Is it dichotomous or will you allow for intermediate categories? Will you measure it on a nominal, ordinal, or some other scale?

You should include a list of potential data sources for measuring your concept.
