Topic
What can we do globally as individuals or communities to be sustainable? This week's paper is a full swing for the first Unit on Sustainability. We did have an opening Discussion with regards to the theme, now we are going full circle. Please write about the theme and make reference to at least three of the readings, and/or videos in your context from the first few weeks along with the Sustainability Goals. Give your critical reaction as always as you bring in the readings and videos.
Follow the same guidelines as reaction paper and the scoring Rubric.
Remember to not only answer the question but back up with any readings or Sustainability goals, etc. that apply that we have studied in this unit.
Make sure to give all references in the paper and citations.
Can also use outside sources if they apply.
You may use the resources from our units and videos and an outside resource as well to connect. You must use at least two references, one or from the readings (videos) here. The additional one can be outside if you wish.
Remember though to follow the guidelines and the scoring Rubric. This is mostly a reaction paper to the information you present in your argument.
The paper will be between 500 and 800 words.
Remember to review the scoring Rubric before you submit your assignment.
Guidelines for the Paper
Interpretation
This is the introduction to your paper. You will explain your topic and introduce your thesis and topic in one or two paragraphs.
Analysis and Presentation of your Argument
This will be the largest section of your paper. You will give a full analysis of the situation and present a strong argument about it. You may use your reading as a reference if appropriate, but mostly your personal interpretation is the key for this paper. You may present both sides of the argument if you wish.
Evaluation
The “Evaluation” section provides an opportunity to critically examine the facts and/or arguments used. Evaluate the situation, examples. You also can present the other side of the argument if you choose and tell which side you believe would be strongest. You may use outside sources, (they do not have to be scholarly or peer-reviewed for these reaction papers) remembering you must give citations and a reference or Works Cited list in MLA.
Summarize
Give a Final Summary of your thoughts. This section will be a couple of paragraphs.

Interpretation
The population of the earth is increasing rapidly. In order to accommodate all the living creatures in this world, there is an increasing need for developing sustainable towns and cities. With effective urban planning that includes resilient, safe and affordable towns and cities the environment can be made green and clean so that all of the individuals can survive (Plummer 5). A collective effort is required on the part of all communities for fulfilling the needs of all people.
Analysis and Presentation of Argument
The sustainable community considers human requirements and takes action for resolving the issues faced by mankind. In sustainable communities, individuals or groups of people belonging to diverse backgrounds feel safe and secure as they achieve sustainability. The community formulates a long-term plan after taking into consideration the current situation and the possible future outcomes. Sustainable community makes continuous efforts towards managing financial natural and human capital so that adequate facilities and resources can be provided to future generations. Multiple sustainable communities have been established in different parts of the world. For instance, Saint Michael’s Sustainable Community which has been established in Costa Rica produces a sufficient amount of water and food for fulfilling human needs. The sustainable individuals and sustainable communities are created as all the stakeholders play an active role in the betterment of society and the environment (Keitumetse 89-111). These communities lay an active role in providing relevant support to underprivileged individuals and families.
Evaluation
The human ethics, human rights, and gender inequality form the basis for human rights. The injustices present in society against the youth give rise to crimes in society.
