Oppression
1.
People are split into distinct social classes according to their wealth, income, and occupation in a situation known as class oppression. I occasionally experience this when I'm attempting to blend in with a particular group of individuals. The feeling that I don't belong or meet their expectations makes me feel oppressed, similar to some workers in our society. While people in the upper classes enjoy privileges, power, and influence over society's institutions and laws, those in the lower classes frequently experience systemic discrimination, exploitation, and lack of access to opportunities, resources, and essential services. I need more opportunities for these folks to fit in with a particular social group or circle of acquaintances.
Aside from personal matters, class oppression impacts many aspects of life, including politics, economics, housing, healthcare, and education. For instance, those from lower socioeconomic levels are more likely to work in low-paying, hazardous employment with few benefits or safeguards and are less likely to have access to quality education, cheap healthcare, or adequate housing. But, thanks to the modern era we currently live in, I did not personally experience this kind of oppression (Jeffery et al.).
We can engage in modest political initiatives in our neighboring communities that have an impact to counteract the systems of classism. One such action could be supporting and promoting laws that advance economic justice, such as raising the minimum wage, supplying affordable housing, enhancing access to healthcare and education, and generating employment opportunities for underrepresented groups.

According to Yuen and Weaver's research, the four components of internalized class oppression are classism, isolation, shame, and self-blame. Classism is the systematic bias and discrimination that lower-class individuals experience daily, which can cause them to feel inferior, helpless, and resentful. People from different classes may feel socially isolated and disconnected, making it challenging to develop relationships and foster cross-class solidarity.
