Bureaucracy refers to a system of governing, where state officials make the essential decisions rather than the elected representatives and is characterized by hierarchical coordination and control, following a strict chain of command.
List and discuss the five reasons why our federal government has grown

* Social welfare ensured that the economy remained steady, even with high unemployment levels or economic recession. Also, they enabled people to take risks in finding better jobs or growing businesses, increasing revenue for the government.
* A Belief in Progress enabled the federal government to adopt science and technology, which brought innovations that have revolutionized the different sectors. It has led to the adoption of political and legal systems that gives people freedoms and the government powers to rule over the country effectively and attain economic prosperity.
* Ambitious Administrators focused on the country’s performance, fueling critical and creative thinking that facilitated the adoption of innovative ideas and entrepreneurship to grow successful ventures that sustain the economy.
