1st body paragraph: In your first body paragraph you are to introduce the fictional character and explain who the individual is at the beginning of the movie (make sure that you name the movie!) Also, be sure to:
Provide the textbook definition for “character” from your textbook, “Your Life in Christ”.
Provide specific details about the fictional character's moral choices from the beginning of the story. Give TWO specific examples from the movie.
Define “capital sins.”
Note the capital sins that the fictional character embodies (pride, envy, gluttony, anger, lust, sloth and greed.) Provide TWO specific examples to illustrate the capital sins(s).
2nd body paragraph: In your second body paragraph you are to discuss the fictional character's transformation.
How did the fictional character change over time? Provide TWO examples.
Why did the fictional character change?
Discuss the role that forgiveness and mercy play in the fictional character's transformation. ***The fictional character that you selected for your case study may not be Christian, but how would you look at his or her transformation from a Catholic perspective?

In Kohlberg’s moral development theory he highlighted that children between the ages of eight and sixteen often seek approval from their peers, parents, and teachers. In the movie Coco, Miguel Rivera is a twelve year old aspiring musician. The world of the living dead, the afterlife, Mexican culture, Mexican music and the role of the family are explored in the film and Miguel’s experiences influence his moral development.
Miguel begins as a headstrong boy who wants to achieve his dream of being a superstar regardless of whether his family approves his interest in music. Character is the sum total of experiences, which reflect the qualities of a person. Miguel has pride and believed that he was being underrated and could not understand why his family disapproved his choices. This led him to disobey them and follow his self-interests even as he knew that there would be no conflict if he conformed to family expectations. Cardinal sins relates to the moral vices that result in different other failures to love including pride, envy, gluttony, anger, lust, sloth and greed. Miguel not only wanted to emulate Hector, he was also envious of him that he tried auditioning and rebuilding his reputation as one of the greatest musicians.
When the family disapproved he decided to be a musician despite his family dissuading. The second change occurs when Miguel comes close to the dead after the festival of day of the dead. Miguel changed after realizing that Ernes...
