The concept of object permanence holds that an object continues to exist even after it is hidden. Piaget's views on the development of object permanence in infancy are different from the research conducted by Baillargeon. First, Piaget held that an infant of ages between eight and nine months is the one who understands the concept of objects' continuity to existing while hidden. When they turn 12 months, they now begin to realize that other than existing, objects also retain their spatial and physical properties when they are hidden ("Annenberg Learner," 2021).
