Planning a trip by comparing costs of auto vs. bus vs. train vs. plane and considering ticket price, gas cost, time spent, etc. Scheduling a project and considering: number of tasks, time for each task, can any tasks overlap, due date, etc. Reports should be 3 - 4 pages typed double space in Word, with 11-point font and one-inch margins and borders, and following MLA format with footnotes and bibliography to cite sources. For digital stories, the final report will be the story script. Paraphrase and comment on the ideas of others, but don't plagiarize. Do interact, respond, defend or disagree with the ideas students have researched. Explain any technical terms used. Any quotation used must be properly footnoted and explained.

Mathematics is a basic subject that is required for all students to learn as it has many practical and scientific applications. However, the fun of math is not usually seen in the complex and difficult math problems that would probably, never see the light of day in a real life situation. The more abstract mathematical concepts that are shown in class rarely comes into play, but being able to think in this abstract and mathematical manner gives our brains a mental exercise that develops in us our thinking and analyzing skills. The underlying knowledge that is developed in early education resonate throughout our lifetimes and often come up to help use solve real world and life related difficulties. Mathematics also provide a basic knowledge of a foundation of true wisdom in regards to our reality as a consciousness. (Allred, 2017)
In the most basic example, Mathematics sustains our way of life and our modern physical environment through the practical use of math in constructing homes and buildings. Knowing the exact values and measurements of physical tools and materials is a must for contractors and construction workers. Creating new things for them involves a relationship with mathematics and its guidance for precision and beautification of buildings. Quality materials and creative vision are nothing without the framework and guidance of mathematics, as mathematics is the element that gives the precision and pattern to able to make a beautiful work. In the field of construction, workers are required to know the amount of concrete needed for creating a good mix of cement, know accurate measurements and be able to record them, have knowledge about lengths, widths, angles and many more. Mathematics also guide contractors on estimating project costs and home owners on calculating their budgets and plans for home improvement projects.
Another part of our everyday life where mathematics is in demand is in our economy. We can observe it in the way that we spend money and in the places where we trade resources for other forms of products. Mathematics provides an avenue of fairness in trade and in the exchange of resources such as in a grocery store or a shopping mall. (Maths Careers, 2017) We need math in calculating and estimating prices and balancing it with our budget. For example, we can budget an amount of $1000 by splitting it into percentages that would reflect our priorities, e.g: we can a lot 50% for food, 10% for savings, another 10% for a date and 30% for shopping. That would amount to $500, $10, $10 and $300 respectively. We can also utilize it in calculating prices per unit or weight, weighing produce and figuring out percentage.
