While critiquing may be similar to judging, the video implies that it is more of speaking of the value of a piece of writing. Establishing the value of a piece of writing is not just about pros and cons, but the accuracy and controversies related to the work. Importantly, the response to a piece of writing should not just be based on personal opinion but rather on established facts and logic.

Read and Respond to the following sections of Crafting Truth:

* "Math, Metamorphosis, and Monarchs," by Andrea Oyarzabal on pp. 164-169
In the introduction, the objective of the writer is to examine partial and complete nonfiction essays. The author is appealing in his quest as he presents a list of both experienced and less experienced writers of nonfiction essays. However, the introduction recognizes too many nonfiction writers, turning it into a marketing tool rather than a simple introduction of an essay.
