Wildfires
Wildfires have become a global disaster with incidences getting uglier as days go by. In most states, fires have given the citizens fear for their lives, considering a state like California, which happens to be the third most loved state in the entire United States of America. In some cases, fires burn for up to 16 days, covering an area of about 77, 000 acres. In Taboose, once fire burned for 64 days. Similar incidences have been witnessed in several other parts of California in the last three years, with extreme occurrences in Maria, South, Ranch, Getty, Hillside, and Barham, which started burning on November 10th, 2019. These wildfires, sadly, have seen many lives being lost and a lot of property destroyed. The big problem here is that the problem does not seem to be going away. It is a little disappointing both to the great nation of The United States and other countries since many other countries look up to the US in any case of such disastrous moments. Is there a way that there can be a permanent solution? What is needed to assure the Americans that regardless of whatever happens their lives will always be safe and that they will always be guaranteed safety and immediate action? These fires could be as a result of burning waste material, negligence – when cigarette smokers discard it carelessly, and sometimes it may be a campfire left unattended. In as long as the whole country may point blame fingers to the government claiming that it has failed to contain the problem, these very citizens being directly affected by the fires are indeed directly responsible for their predicament. Also, wildfires may be caused by natural occurrences, one which neither the government nor the citizens are reliable, and about these, all there is to do is try to contain the fires and reduce their effect. An excellent example of a natural cause of wildfires is the lighting. Volcanic eruptions are also possible natural causes of these wildfires because of the impact off hot burning lava. However, it is also significant to note that sometimes, equipment failures may start fires that may easily flare up, especially when the equipment was out in the fields. For example, a running engine may produce sparks when it runs into a problem or when an accident occurs; the chances of fire starting are very high. Even so, what are the effects of these wildfires?
To boot, the effects of wildfires are worse than they are explained. The sting the fires bring on innocent residents of the affected areas, the environment, and the entire ecosystem is of great concern. First, on the effects, these fires cause death and destruction of property. In California, on November 9th, 2019, three lives were lost, and one of the three died in their car (Cave 2019). Also, wildfires destroy the soil by ma...
