In his book 1984, George Orwell envisioned the division of the world into three large unified states, held together through technological controls. To what extent has Orwell's vision of a global political arraignment been realized. Explain and give SOLID examples.
Topic #2:
Thomas Malthus argued 200 years ago that overpopulation was inevitable, because population increased geometrically while food supply increased arithmetically. Was Malthus correct? Why or why not? Give SOLID examples to support you claim.
Topical essays must be 1 to 2 pages in length, following MLA format (see MLA format link) and must have a work cited page that follows MLA format.
Topical Essay #2 will be due by Friday, 9 December NO EXCEPTIONS.

Thomas Malthus Theory
Thomas Malthus was an English scholar who, in 1798, predicted a future tragedy where there would be a great famine because the rate of population growth was not the same as the rate of increase in agricultural production. According to Malthus, the population grew geometrically. At the same time, the production rate increased arithmetically, resulting in a significant imbalance where the population with be higher than the rate of food production (Sachs 1). Based on research, I believe Malthus was wrong in his theory for the following reasons.
For one, although Malthus's theory was close to becoming actual, the theory disregarded specific changes that would take effect in the later years. One of these changes is birth control. Malthus came up with the theory more than two hundred years ago when technology was not very advanced (Sachs 1). At the time, there were no effective birth control methods as there are today.
